Robot Arms for Small Businesses: Where They Pay Off

Collaborative robot arms work alongside people. Which sizes exist and what they are good for.

Collaborative robot arms, or cobots for short, work next to people without a safety fence and take over repetitive manual tasks.

Small arms for labs and small series

The DOBOT MG400 (0.5 kg payload, 440 mm reach) and the E6 (0.75 kg) are desktop devices for pick and place, inspection and training.

Mid-range for assembly and packaging

The Nova 2 (2 kg, 625 mm, IP54) suits food service, retail and labs. The CR5A (5 kg, 900 mm, repeatability ±0.02 mm) is used for assembly, packaging and dispensing.

Large arms for palletizing

The CR10A carries 10 kg at a reach of 1,300 mm and suits palletizing and handling. The CR20A reaches 1,700 mm, and the CR30H carries 30 kg with IP65 protection.

When does it pay off?

When a task is repeated often, the parts arrive in a defined position and the volume justifies the setup. A feasibility check with your parts shows whether it works.
